TL;DR
3 words: mysterious minty citrus
Notes Evolution: citrus-mint-apple -> mint-apple -> patchouli-wood-vanilla (not too strong)
Where and when to wear it: Anywhere, but it does perform better in closed spaces. A a bit cloying in high heat, and almost unnoticeable when its very cold.
Performance: For me, strong projection for 1-2 hours, after that it tones down to moderate projection and later becomes a skin scent :(
Worth it ?: Kinda. A definite yes if found discounted.
Long review
I love sweet fragrances. But after buying quite a few (Liquid Brun, Kismet Magic, and Lattafa Khamrah), I realized that I absolutely couldn’t wear during the day (it’s super hot where I am).
So, I was on the hunt for a fresh but still sweet fragrance. Soon enough, my goated YouTube algorithm bombarded me with shorts on Versace Eros and all of it variations. After checking Fragantica, I instantly fell in love with the notes, mostly the citrus, mint, and vanilla.
However, I still went to Sephora to smell it and be sure that I liked it. After testing 20+ perfumes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), the turn of Versace eros finally came. I sprayed it on my hand and surprise, it was nice, but not as sweet as I expected…It was just a lot of citrus and mint.
But i still bought it (online).
I got a 200mL bottle on sale for around 65 USD. For this price, this perfume is actually worth it. It opens with a citrus blast and some mint. Very fresh. Then after 2-3 hours, it tones down to a woody/earthy and patchouli scent, with some vanilla in the background (I wish it was stronger tho).
Now, the performance is just okay. On my skin, It projects strongly for 1-2 hours. After that, the projection radius shrinks, only people directly next to you will be able to smell it (for around 2-4 hours). Finally, it just becomes a skin scent for 1-2 hours. So in total, you can expect it to last for 6 to 7 hours (don’t flinch). On skin, it lasts much longer, something around 8 hours+. I usually overspray this perfume, especially when I’m going out in open spaces.
Where would you wear this ? LITERALLY anywhere. It’s very versatile and hard to not like. Just don’t overspray it in closed spaces or in high heat, as it can become intoxicating for you and people around. It performs really well during hot/warm days, and during cool nights (but not when it’s too cold).
Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase, I’ve owned this bottle for 4 months now, and I find myself wearing this almost all the time during the day. I definitely plan on buying another bottle when mine finishes. Also, I’ve recently started layering it with Haramain Amber Oud Aqua Dubai (review coming soon) and the combination really smells amazing.
